_Unlatched_: "Water Ways of (Be)longing" is a dinner-performance project, created by artist and theater director Roza Pogosian, in collaboration with chef Luca Meneghini, sound artist Katarina Kadijević, and set designer Daria Ozerova. This performance is dedicated to the stories of water — its local and global histories of the past, present, and its affirmations for the future. The project explores the species and entities that inhabit water, as well as the messages it holds for human beings. The performance interweaves narratives of real and mythical beings living in water, histories of the oceans, seas, water in urban space, and the relationships humans have formed with water across different civilisations. Every aspect of the evening, from the performance to the dishes, will be a part of this mysterious journey. Central to the experience is a six-course dinner designed by Luca Meneghini, inspired by different states of water and the local environment. Luca worked at SOHO House in Amsterdam and other iconic restaurants in Italy, New Zealand, and Ireland. The chef is passionate about finding the most extraordinary taste combinations and visual harmony. He works with infusion and reflexive cooking. His approach reflects a pursuit of sustainable and intriguing cooking, where every detail carries its own significance.The evening’s storyline is also intricately tied to the transformations of Amsterdam's water structures and the unique urban landscape of Zeeburgereiland, an artificial island where the event will unfold. This is the first event from the project _UNLATCHED_ that sets its aim on reestablishing the connections with elemental structures and entities in the mediation of the metabolic exchange. _‘In the age of rapidly growing disconnect, we feel the urge to turn our heads and palms to the very beginning in order to regain connectivity.
